I’m an Aztec geek; whether it’s history or mythology, I devour it all. It’s a love affair that began in college and has taken over my fiction writing life. It gives me immense joy to immerse myself into that world, digging up the forgotten treasures and intrigues, and finding voices and figures my high school history and English classes never bothered to mention.

Like Quetzalpetlatl, the most famous woman no one knows anything about: the woman the gods used to ruin Mesoamerica’s greatest hero.

And today, over at Lawrence Schoen’s blog, I talk a bit about a memorable meal me and my family shared in San Antonio this last summer, as part of his feature called Eating Authors. The Bone Flower Throne - cover 8-16You can now pre-order The Bone Flower Throne in paperback on Amazon. Copies will start shipping October 7th, with the ebook version becoming available for immediate download around the same time, or a few days later.

Right now the product description is a little messed up, but hopefully Ingram will fix the errors soon. Pre-orders are important for any new book, so if you were planning to buy a copy anyway, I hope you’ll consider pre-ordering it now.

The website had undergone a top to bottom renovation and I’m really very thrilled with the fantastic work Jeremiah Tolbert of Clockpunk Studios did with it. A new book deserves a new site filled with all sorts of goodies, right? I hope you find the site more reader-friendly now, with separate book pages for all my novels/collections/anthologies, with easy to click buy links, and I’m in the process of building up some extras on each book page, to make them more interesting to visit. And I’m over the moon with how Jeremiah integrated Kurt and Zelda’s fabulous web art into the new design; I love the watermark affect of the sketch on the bottom of each page and the peppering of the colored banners throughout the pages.
